During the holy month of Ramadan, traditional cannons have been installed in several areas of Dubai to fire at sunset, signaling the end of the day's fast and the start of iftar.
In 2024, the guns will be located in seven districts, with an additional mobile gun moving around and visible in 13 different locations.

The ceremony will be broadcast live on Dubai TV during the iftar, promoting social values, unity and family ties. Dubai Police will use two antique French cannons that have historical value. They were used during Ramadan back in the 1960s.
The beginning and end of the holy month of Ramadan, the police specified, is traditionally marked by a double cannon shot. The police called on residents and guests of the emirate to personally visit the specified locations and get to know the local traditions better.
