In the days before the release of The Burning Crusade, its influence on the game as overall was already being felt. The non-player characters of the expansion pack's brand new Blood Elf and Draenei races began appearing in WoW cataclysm Gold major cities. The economy of auction houses went bonkers when players resisted auctions for once-in-a-lifetime desirable armor and weapons that were quickly became obsolete in the Outlands and instead chose to spend (or create) their money on things which were necessary for the newly-established profession of jewelcrafting. When word spread that higher-level monsters (enemies) in certain regions dropped Burning Crusade loot a few days prior to the release of the expansion groups and guilds with the capability of killing the mobs flocked in, hoping to stay ahead.

After the expansion was released, it appeared that there were two types of players in Azeroth - those who had plans to purchase it shortly as well as those who been to a late-night event of some sort to receive it earlier and eager to display their new items, their brand new pets, mounts that were new, and the like.
